The Opportunity

We're looking for a Security Operations Engineer who wants to help redefine what security operations looks like in the era of autonomous AI.

This isn't a traditional SOC role. You won't spend your day tuning legacy SIEM rules or responding to routine alerts. Instead, you'll build the detection, telemetry, and response capabilities that protect autonomous systems operating across modern enterprise environments.

You'll work alongside platform engineers, AI researchers, and product leaders to transform emerging security challenges into production-ready capabilities that customers rely on every day.

Security operations has always focused on protecting people, infrastructure, and applications.

Autonomous AI introduces an entirely new attack surface—software capable of making decisions, invoking tools, accessing enterprise systems, and adapting its behavior in real time.

As a Security Operations Engineer, you'll help build the systems that detect, understand, and respond to these new classes of threats before they become tomorrow's security incidents.

This is an opportunity to help define the security operating model for autonomous AI.

Problems You'll Solve

Every day, you'll work on challenges such as:

  • How do we detect malicious or unexpected agent behavior in real time?
  • How do we verify the identity and trustworthiness of autonomous software?
  • How do we enforce runtime security policies without introducing latency?
  • How do we observe millions of autonomous decisions across enterprise environments?
  • How do we transform emerging AI threats into scalable security capabilities?

What You'll Build

AI-Native Detection & Response

Design detection pipelines that identify unauthorized agent behavior, privilege escalation, prompt manipulation, and runtime anomalies.

Runtime Telemetry

Build the observability layer that enables organizations to understand how autonomous agents behave across complex enterprise environments.

Identity & Policy Enforcement

Develop systems that establish identity, permissions, and trust boundaries between autonomous agents, users, and enterprise infrastructure.

Security Automation

Create scalable tooling that helps customers detect, investigate, and respond to AI-native threats quickly and confidently.

Product Collaboration

Partner closely with platform and research engineers to continuously improve Lineation's runtime governance platform through real-world threat intelligence and customer feedback.

What You Bring

We're looking for engineers who enjoy building security platforms—not simply operating them.

You'll likely bring many of the following:

  • 6+ years of experience in Security Operations, Detection Engineering, Cloud Security, Security Engineering, or Incident Response.
  • Strong systems programming experience in Rust or C++. JavaScript/TypeScript experience is a plus for platform development.
  • Experience building production-grade security tooling, detection pipelines, or automation platforms.
  • Deep understanding of cloud-native infrastructure, Kubernetes, identity and access management (IAM), and distributed systems.
  • Experience investigating complex attack paths across cloud-native environments.
  • Familiarity with AI systems, autonomous agents, or modern inference runtimes.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a passion for solving difficult engineering and security problems.
